Welcome to the de Quant family site. This site contains information about the history of our family, via the Dutch East Indies all the way back to our namesake Cornelis Joosten the noble quant who lived in Ouderkerk aan den IJssel in the Netherlands at the end of the 16th and beginning of the 17th century.
In 2027 we can celebrate that it’s 400 years since our name first appears. Since then, de Quants have ventured abroad, to the Dutch East Indies but also to Australia and the Americas. With this website, we hope to bring together distant relatives, exchange information and stories and give a sense of belonging, just like our relatives did in the picture below! Kind regards, Paul and Wouter.
For an overview, check out the Indonesian family branch and their ancestors all the way back to the first Quant.
